We’re all breathing a little easier to be home together again. We’ve felt like spinning tops for so many months now, it’s nice to feel everything slowing down before the holidays rush in. So we may be keeping the pjs and coffee going long past the AM today.
For as long as I can remember, going on walks has eased many a difficult day and been a happy pastime. It is an almost instinctual remedy for all sorts of ailments, clearing heads and hearts. I’m particularly looking forward to curling up with this book by Rebecca Solnit this weekend and taking a stroll or two with Lily to explore our new hometown. I even picked up some little mementos from our last walk (Lily likes to toss around acorns and pecans when she finds them on the sidewalk and it’s the cutest thing).
Times, they are a’changing...⠀ ⠀ It’s a time of transition for our tiny fam, and it seems fitting that it’s in sync with autumn: the ultimate season of change⠀ ⠀ I wrote all about our journey from 2 years ago to now on the blog.
You know it’s a good spot when you have a chin rest and can people watch. Lily approves of these small town sidewalks and friendly strangers... and it’s finally starting to feel like we found our home away from home. Happy weekend y’all!
There are some places that are harder to appreciate because they aren’t where we’d like to be. Sometimes these are physical places, sometimes emotional, and even sometimes just a time or a season. Yet, these are the places that truly make me realize the importance of the simple things. Things like a good nights sleep, waking up to loved ones, filling meals, fresh air, trees... There is so much to be loved and felt each moment, even in the places we least expect. It’s a peeling back of the life you think is right, to be awake to the life you have. ⠀ ⠀ {More musings 🖋 on the blog}
