Full hearts going into 2020 ♡

3 years ago we started renovations on the Dream Stream. It was the peak of Texas summer, and so we journeyed with my parents to Fort Davis to escape the heat (August is actually the area’s “monsoon” season). It is a trip I hold close to my heart because despite the difficulties I was facing at the time, here was a place filled with reminders of the way of life I was trying to build. We visited Bloys Campmeeting where my dad had gone each summer as a child, a place all the West Texas families gathered together each year. We sat and ate and marveled over the aluminum plates that had been used for this reunion for generations - which would become inspiration for the Airstream’s own aluminum dinnerware. I’m not sure what stories our dishes hold, but they’re now apart of the Airstream’s ventures. I’m not sure what this next chapter is going to be like for us and the Airstream. We were just twenty-somethings who knew nothing about building anything when we started. It was our first home as a married couple. It was a lot of firsts for us. But I’m happy we made it here, where the story all began. (One of my favorite blog posts that I wrote following our trip 3 years ago is in the link in my profile. It’s much more eloquent than this ♡)
